Moving from one house or office to another is always related to variety of difficulties. The best way to handle these difficulties is to entrust the work in our hands. In case you desire to reduce the amount of work by doing some of it beforehand, here is a list with some tips that will help you.
General Tips:
- Separate the most important things you will need right after the relocation, they will be loaded last and unloaded first.
- Get rid of items you don't need or haven't used in a year before movers arrive.
- Separate the jewelry, money, coin collections and all the item you want to transport by yourself.
- Give every room a final once over. Don't forget to check the basement, yards, attic, garage and closets.
- Separate the fragile items and those which won`t be moved, from the rest.
- Check if the elevators are functional and get the maintenance thelephone number.
- The days before the move warn all your neighbours, reserve the elevator and a parking space for the truck.
- Defrost and dry your refrigerator at least two days before the moving.
- Get rid of all hazardous materials.
Packing Tips:
The good packing is extremely important for a quality relocation. We recommend that you leave this task to us, but if you decide to pack youself, it important that you are familiar with the basic rules first.
- Remove all the fragile itmes from the drawers.
- If you disassemble something, pack all it`s parts together.
- Do not leave loose electrical cables.
- Place a layer of crumpled paper at the bottom of the boxes, if you are going to fill them with vases, glass or any other fragile items.
- Put the heavy items in small boxes, and the light in bigger.
- Place the heaviest items at the bottom, then the lighter things over as you place papers between each layer.
- Seal the boxes tight with sealing tape.
- Make a list and describe all the items by rooms for easier unpacking.
